Political Stuff- OMG we might actually spend less on the military for once
Defense Secretary Robert Gates said thursday that during this time of national debt he is required to call for cuts to our military. This will be to try and reverse the extreme increase in spending since september 11, 2001. The white house it ordering the pentagon to cut down spending over the next 5 years. This will reduce the amount of budget available by 78 billion not including the money used for combat operations overseas.
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/07/us/07military.html?ref=politics
This is good. I mean it took everyone long enough to realize we are throwing oodles of cash at our military for no real reason besides the irrational fear of other countries 1/100 our size. They are asking them to cut 78 Billion from there budget which really is not more that 5%. It would cut about 47000 troops from our standing army which is 6% of our force. That amount won't even slightly make a dent in our troop numbers but it is a start to reducing the overwhelming cost of our military. The real way however to pull our country out of deficit would be to cut spending on our less then productive overseas activities. Doing that would really cut our costs. Everyone is trying to cut money from other areas that would never need to be touched if we just stop spending money overseas. However politicians act blind to the real problems so well wait and see what other cuts the white house has in store for us.

Political Stuff - Republicans being Anti Healthcare
Republicans are told that repealing Barack Obama's Healthcare will add 230 billion dollars to the deficit over the next decade. But the new speaker of the house John Boehner doesn't agree with the estimates stating that they are made primarily by the Democrats. He says that repealing the "job-killing" health care bill will increase the deficit. But the deficit comes from continuing the medicare that would be greatly reduced by this new bill.

This seems very straight forward to me. The republican speaker of the house is just going to deny the report because it doesn't say what he wants it to. The report made by an independent company with outside help from multiple different experts according to Boehner is being made biased by Democrats. So instead of looking at the facts presented in front of him and conducting himself accordingly he's gonna go his own way and still try to repeal this healthcare bill that covers 95% of americans. I mean just that statistic on its own should be more than enough to keep everyone on board. People are to selfish and prideful to realize what this bill does. Anyway it doesn't matter its not getting repealed.

Political Stuff - Obama Meeting with Rich People
Barack Obama announced that he is going to meet with 20 CEO's of fortune 500 companies such as Google and Intel. He is going to discuss trade issues, ways to hire people, clean energy, and taxes. He says the "primary engine of Americas Success is not the Government but the Ingenuity of American Entrepenuers.
http://money.cnn.com/2010/12/15/news/economy/obama_ceo/index.htm
Now that is a great idea. I never would have thought to do that. Its a good idea by instead of using laws and such to force businesses to solve these problems, He is going to talk to these people. Just talk. I guess its a good idea because the thing is that most of these people have money to spend and are the same as you and me but with large sums of money. Just like we want progress they most likely want progress to and are most likely happy to help the country as long as its not overly detrimental to their company. And Barack is right unless the Government is communist it cant solve our economic problems on its own. Now if Obama can get some help from the CEO's then we will be much closer to solving our economic problems then just having the government do all the work.
Political Stuff - Afghanistan, Pakistani help?
Barack Obama is releasing a review over the military strategy in Afghanistan. This report will show the progress made in this country for the 9 years that we have been fighting this war. This report was made by 16 non military agencies instead of the reports made by the military. This assessment shows negative results for this "conflict". They believe that the only way we can start to make a real dent in rebel forces is if we have Pakistani help to keep the rebels from escaping into their borders for rest and resupply before they cross the border again to engage American forces.
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/15/world/asia/15policy.html?_r=1&ref=politics
I believe that if we can get Pakistan to support us then we might be able to make a difference in the war. But the problem is even with Pakistani help we are still fighting a war against people who don't want our help. A war is won not by the bigger army but by the people who want victory the most and if we don't have the support of Afghanis and Pakistanis or the people within our own borders then we are wasting away money and soldiers for a lost cause. The best idea would be to pull our troops out. The enemy will think they won but we tell them well leave them alone unless they do something against us. And if they do decide to reengage us by some form of attack on American soil then we head back there with force. But the key to this working is to make it public about how we are leaving them alone and what will happen if they attack us. Then if they do reengage us we will have public support on our soil to send a force back over there. But when we go back over there we go over there with a force that they could never imagine. And we have to deal with them such force that no one in that area will ever challenge our power again. Before the world wars we were not thought of as powerful but after we flexed our countries power no one doubted it. Now 70 years later I feel the world even some of our allies need to be shown the true might that is the United States. See people always question weather it is better to be feared or loved. Well as long as the world is shown our mercy then we should not be afraid to show our power when a little tiny country feels they can attack us. That way the world will fear us but most of the world is on our side and will enjoy the fact that we wont hold back all the time anymore.

Political Stuff - New Tax Deal
Barack Obama came to a compromise on friday that he thinks will pass. This new tax bill will increase unemployment for 13 months and extend the bush era tax cuts for 2 more years. It will also cut payroll tax by 2%. There is support behind this bill but certain democrats have voiced their opinion against it.
http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/12/10/tax.plan/index.html?hpt=T2
Barack Obama. WTF!!!!. Barack what are you thinking. Doing exactly what the republicans want all the time kinda doesn't get anywhere because they dont know what they are doing. I think you should grow a pair and deal with the problem. Barack obama has a plan and his plan is relatively good if he could get it to work but he meets republican opposition everywhere and instead of forcing his ideas on them and getting some public support he compromising and ends up with everyone hating him. He needs to stand by what hes thinking. We all know hes against bush era tax cuts but ends up extending them anyway. That is money we are throwing away. Oh its just another 700 billion no one cares. I care because your screwing up the country and me and my generation are gonna have to deal with it. Barack you need to be a man and stop asking congress to do stuff for you and jam it down their throats until you get what you want. Stop being a punk bitch

High Speed Rail Denied? - Political Stuff
With the power change in the Legislative branch of our government there has been new challenges to Obama's high speed rail idea. They say that more than half of the 10 billion used to create rails has gone to rails that do not support high speed trains. It has gone to build slow conventional trains.“That train is dead,” john kasich said. A couple of the projects have already grinded down to a stop now that republicans are in control of certains states with federal train money.
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/18/us/18rail.html?ref=politics
We need to continue with expanding our train network. For a nation that is all about being green and other stuff the rails are super effective in minimalizing energy used. Our freight trains can move 100,000 tones of freight 1 mile with 1 gallon of fuel. That is unbelievable. This country was built on the iron and steel of the rails and thats where it belongs. Who cares if its not high speed rails were building now. Those will come in the future. I mean you can't just build a high speed infrastructure over night. It just wont work but Barack Obama is starting a movement. No a revolution. A revolution continues it never stops it continues around and around forever and hopefully it will continue until our nation it connected from corner to corner by trains that can move passengers at an alarmingly fast rate for minimal fuel. Eventually it will be maglev trains which if there was a train from new york to florida it would take less than a hour to make it down there and would cost about 10 cents per passenger. Now that is where our country should be and Obama is trying to get us there. If you want to really move forward you have to commit to an idea. The republicans wont do that and thats why our country isn't getting anywhere with their ideas. Main idea is we have to continue with the infrastructure its the only way well get anywhere.
